Cosmos ・ Eternity ・ Samsara,
They keep revolving as they are.

Without pretending, without overextending, generously, warmly.
Live with dignity.

Among the cosmos, we should
Keep on living as we are.

Whether we are ○, △, or ◻︎.
We should accept each of them.
I wanted to send that image of affirmation
As a message.

I once thought that feeling “I must do things this way”
Was the sign of a strong person.
However, through calligraphy,
I learned that this is not who I am.
That I am more free.

Right now, somewhere in the cosmos,
If there are people whose hearts are tightly bound,
I want you to set your hearts free.
Who you feel yourself to be right now, is not all that you are.
Be as you are.
You are yourself, isn’t that enough…?

Each person’s way of life and personality
Is composed of ○, △, and ◻︎.
Be as you are with a sense of gratitude.
I’d be happy if you grasp that message.

In order to give form to these thoughts
Based on my principal theme, “Natural Feeling,”
I wrote not with a brush, but directly with my hand.

○△◻︎ represents the world of Zen.

○ stands for things which can be symbolically expressed using a circle,
such as satori (enlightenment), truth, Buddha nature, and the entire cosmos.

△ , the triangle, represents becoming one with the Buddha.
The triangle represents the sitting posture one assumes when engaging in seated meditation (seated meditation posture).
This is the posture when, with an uninhibited heart, one’s self becomes one with the Buddha.

Finally, ◻︎
Represents the imprisoned heart surrounded by a cage.
It is said that by taking a single step outside from inside the cage,
It is possible to reach a uninhibited, free state of mind.
